You’re Going to Disney World!

Congratulations! You booked your trip to Walt Disney World. Many consider Disney the ultimate family vacation. Disney is so Magical! It can also be a little overwhelming and expensive. As a mom who has taken her family of six (including a toddler and teenagers), I know how hard it can be to start that packing list. Let’s start packing for Disney World with what to take to the parks.

If you want to know what to pack in your park bag for your next trip to Walt Disney World, here are the best Amazon items to purchase before your trip to make the park days easier. Not only will getting these items in advance save money, but they will be delivered straight to your door, saving you time. Ready? Let’s get packing!

Packing for Disney World – Must Have Items From Amazon

Every family is different. It is best to sit down and create a list of needed items a few weeks before your trip. I like to break out my main items from what I need specifically for the parks when packing for Disney World. Make sure to consider the items below to help make your trip to Disney World amazing! These are my must-haves for my park bag or stroller.

When putting together what you need for your park days at Disney World, it is important to consider the time of year, weather, and who will be going. Keep reading to check out my top recommendations for making your park days Magical!

#1 Water Bottles and Electrolyte Packets

Most months of the year, Disney World is hot! Not to mention the property spans 43 square miles! If you are planning on walking the parks, Disney Springs, or exploring the Boardwalk, it is important to stay hydrated! While I love my larger water bottles, I opted for slightly skinnier ones for our trip to fit in the stroller better. Stainless steel or insulated water bottles will keep your water nice and cool. I recommend the 24 oz Contigo Cortland Water Bottle. This water bottle fits in cup holders, is leakproof, and has a carrying handle. This water bottle is designed to tip to drink. If you prefer a straw, try the 24 oz Contigo Ashland Water Bottle with AutoSpout lid. We let our girls pick the design they wanted.

Bonus Items: We are not huge fans of Florida water. When we go to the parks, we like to get plenty of bottled water to fill our water bottles each day. If we are using Florida water, we make sure to keep flavored electrolyte packets in our bag. These are a great way to not only add some flavor to our water, but to help with hydration. My two favorite options are Liquid IV and HydroMATE. Both are excellent ways to add flavor and electrolytes to help you stay hydrated. The HydroMATE option flavor is not quite as strong, so you can choose based on personal preference how much flavoring you would like in your water.

#2 Cooling Towels

If you are going to Disney World anytime from mid-spring to fall, prepare for it to be hot! When my family went in June, it was in the upper nineties every day! The heat was real! Don’t let that scare you, though. All you have to do is prepare and set expectations. In addition to staying hydrated, cooling towels are amazing!

You can get them in the parks. They are adorable and work well, but they are a little expensive. If you are looking to save money, try getting them in advance. The Sukeen Cooling Towels are our top choice! These lightweight mesh towels are amazing! They come in multiple colors, with their own plastic carrying case and carabiner hook. We ordered the six-pack, so everyone in the family had one. Not to mention, they are a fraction of the price of the ones in the parks. Just get them wet, and they will instantly cool you down.

#3 Carabiner Hooks

While the cooling towels come with their own carabiner hooks, I definitely recommend packing a few more. These are great to clip on your bag or stroller to carry those extra items. I like the 6.3″ Large Stroller Clip in a two-pack. We hooked these to the handles of our stroller and clipped the diaper bag to it. Getting a few of the smaller carabiner hooks is also a good idea. I like the 3″ Carabiner Clips with Keyring. They have multiple colors and are perfect for clipping on your water bottles or hanging shopping bags off your stroller!

Stroller hooks and Carabiner Hooks are great to attach items to strollers and bags.

#4 Sunglasses

The sun is so bright at Disney! Make sure to protect your eyes with a good pair of sunglasses. I always like to take two pairs, just in case. While there are so many options for sunglasses out there, I like to take a pair that I won’t mind losing. You can find some reasonable ones on Amazon like these women’s trendy round classic sunglasses.

#5 Ponchos

Let’s face it, it rains in Florida… a lot. Rain does not have to ruin your trip! Even if the forecast calls for rain every day, it usually only lasts a for a short while. If you don’t want to get wet, I recommend adding a few ponchos to the list when packing for Disney World. They do sell them in the parks, but it is much more budget friendly to get them in advance. For our last trip, I bought a large pack of 20 with both adult and kid sized disposable ponchos. Try these rain ponchos with a drawstring hood. These ponchos come in clear or colors and arrive in tiny packages which are easy to slip in any park bag.

#6 Portable Handheld Fan

Trying to beat the Florida heat is a challenge. Personal fans are a great option when there isn’t much of a breeze. I found the best Portable Handheld Fan that has a USB charger and folds up when not in use. These fans come in multiple colors and two different speeds. The charge held all day. We got one in different colors for every member of my family. The blades are soft, and the fan stops if it hits something, so it is safe for kids.

#7 Portable Mini Stroller Fan

Don’t forget the littles that can’t hold their own fan. I recommend a Portable Mini Stroller Fan. I love that these fans have posable legs, which can wrap around the edges of the stroller. The fan can bend to multiple angles as needed.

The cover around the fan is small enough to protect little fingers and there are three separate speed settings. The fan is rechargeable and lasts up to seven hours. This is perfect for keeping air moving inside the stroller.

A portable mini stroller fan is a great addition when packing for Disney World.

#8 Power Bank

With the amount you will use your phones while exploring the parks, you will most likely need to charge at some point. You have a few different options here. Disney offers Fuel Rods if you prefer those. After an initial purchase price, fuel rods can be exchanged throughout park stations for a new one. When taking a family, I recommend a large portable charger. I like the 26,800 mAh Anker Power Bank. This power bank is 7×3 inches, so it will still fit in most park bags, even belt bags. This power bank can charge three phones at once! The charge is strong enough to power tablets as well. It can accommodate USB and USB-C cords. This was a lifesaver for our family, especially on full park days when we were booking lightning lane times throughout the day and ordering food through the My Disney Experience app.

#9 Hand Sanitizer

There is so much to touch at Disney World! While plenty of restrooms exist to stop and wash hands, I like to keep some hand sanitizer available. This is especially nice before sitting down to eat. Small travel sizes are perfect for park days. I like the Purell Advanced Hand Sanitizer Gel Infused with Essential Oils, Scented Variety Pack. You can get them in a 12 pack of 1oz bottles. These are small enough to throw in a belt bag for the day. Keep the extras in your hotel room and replace as needed throughout your trip.

#10 First Aid Kit and Moleskin

Disney is a place of magic and fun. Even at Disney, though, scraped knees can happen. Disney does offer first aid stations at every park. These stations are amazing. Nurses are available during park hours and have over-the-counter medications and first aid items available. I definitely recommend taking a small first aid kit with you though for small scrapes and cuts. If packing light, a small one works perfectly! The main thing is to have some cleansing wipes and bandaids on hand, just in case. If you want to keep it small, I like the Johnson & Johnson First Aid To Go Portable Mini Travel Kit. This comes in a small plastic case and can fit almost anywhere. You can add a small tube of Neosporin if you want.

It is also important to remember that you will do a lot of walking at Disney World. If you are not used to walking or have new shoes, you may want to bring some moleskin to protect any areas where your shoes are rubbing on your feet. The Dr. Scholl’s Moleskin Padding Strips pack comes in with three moleskin pieces and can be cut to size. These can be added to the first aid kit if you are trying to save space.

#11 Sunscreen

Florida sun is beautiful! It is also pretty intense, especially if you are prone to burning or not used to being in the sun. Taking good sunscreen is so important. Don’t forget this when packing for Disney World!

There are many different options out there, and they all work well. Be sure to take what works best for you and your family. For my husband, myself, and the big kids (who are very prone to burning), we used Banana Boat Sport Ultra 50+ SPF. This comes in a spray or lotion and holds up really well without feeling too greasy. I do like Banana Boat Kids Max Protect & Play 100 SPF for our younger daughter.

If you are looking for something for sensitive skin, I always use Neutrogena Beach Defense Face and Body Sunscreen Lotion with Broad Spectrum SPF 70 for my face. You can also get this in a 1 oz travel size, which is perfect to throw in your purse or belt bag for quick touch-ups.

I also really like the Banana Boat Kids Sport Sunscreen Stick. This roll-on sunscreen is great for faces. It doesn’t run into the eyes and is easy to apply. The small size makes it easy to keep in any park bag.

#12 Chapstick

Don’t forget to protect your lips out in the Florida sun too. Grab a chapstick with sunscreen to throw in your bag for those park days in the sun! I like the NIVEA Sun Caring Lip Balm Sticks with SPF 30. This is my go to chap stick brand for sun protection. Not only does it protect from UVA and UVB rays, but it’s shea butter and vitamin E formula moisturize all day. This one works year round, not just at the Disney parks!

#13 Body Glide Anti Chafe Balm

With all of the walking at Disney World, it is so important to protect your skin! If you can, biker shorts are amazing at protecting your legs from chaffing. If your park ensemble doesn’t include biker shorts or longer pants, the Body Glide Anti Chafe Balm is a life saver! This is a must for me when packing for Disney World.

#14 Autograph Book and Sharpie

Autograph books are a great way to capture memories with your favorite characters. If you love characters, this is a must when packing for Disney World. Disney sells cute ones in their gift shops if you forget an autograph book. Amazon has some great options for a fraction of the price, though! I purchased this Autograph Book for Girls for our three-year-old daughter. She loves it! While this particular book is pink, there are different colors available. What I like the most about this book is that when you open it up, there is a spot for a picture on the left and a signature on the right. After our trip, we added pictures of our daughter meeting each character she got a signature with.

If you are planning on getting autographs, it is a good idea to take a Sharpie with you. Some of our character friends have large gloves or hands that make it difficult to handle small pens. A Sharpie is just the right size for them to sign whatever you are taking to the parks easily. I like the Sharpie Retractable Permanent Markers because you don’t have to worry about constantly taking the cap on and off or losing it along your adventures.

#15 Glow Sticks

If you are taking little ones to Disney, Glow Sticks are amazing! Disney does a great job at marketing to kids. Everything is colorful, and a lot of it lights up. While we budget to buy souvenirs throughout our trip, little ones get so excited about all that they see. We distract with glow sticks when the sun goes down to save money. Simply pull out a couple of Glow Sticks to make bracelets and necklaces. This helps to deter from all of the light-up toys being sold in the park. I like the 100 Ultra Bright Glow Sticks pack.

These will help keep the kids occupied while you wait for the fireworks show to start. I highly recommend all of the evening shows at Walt Disney World. Happily Ever After at the Magic Kingdom is one of the best light and fireworks shows I have ever seen. If you can stay for this, it is absolutely worth it!

#16 Lanyards

When packing for Disney World, be sure to think about how you are going to access your passes. If you are using ticket cards for access to the parks or scanning into lightning lane entrances instead of your phone or Magic Band+, you may want to consider a lanyard to keep the card safe and accessible. Disney moves lines quickly whenever possible. Having your card ready without digging in your bag makes the scanning process much smoother. Amazon has some really cute ones at a reasonable price. I like the Disney Mickey & Gang Black Lanyard with Card Holder.

#17 Magic Band Protectors

If you will be using a Magic Band or Magic Band+ while in the parks, consider getting something to stay on. The Magic Band+ is a great way to easily scan into the parks and lightening lane entrances. It has so many fun interactive features and made our trip a breeze. The clasp is not very strong though. Make sure to find a way to secure your band so it does not fall off. I like the Glow in the Dark Magic Band Protectors. The colors worked with our magic bands well and the glow in the evening was a bonus for our little one.

#18 Mickey and Minnie Ears

Mickey ears are such a cute addition to any park outfit. While the ones in the park are great quality, they can also be really pricey. Plan on spending anywhere from $35 to $50 for a pair of ears in the Disney parks. If you are looking for a more budget-friendly option, Amazon has a two pack or Mickey and Minnie Ears for under $10!

#19 Backpack or Belt Bag

Given all of the items on this, a bag to take into the parks is a must! There are so many options out there based on your personality and needs. If you are fans of LoungeFly bags, the Disney Parks will have unlimited options for you! Just remember, if you are planning on buying one and see one you like, buy it! If you want to shop around but are not going back to the same park, know that many gift shops have unique bags and you may not be able to find it anywhere else. My oldest loves her Marvel Loungefly and uses it every trip. It holds everything she needs.

If you are looking for a backpack-style back but don’t want to splurge on a LoungeFly, I like using a Lightweight, Foldable Travel Hiking Backpack. This one is great as it is water resistant, lightweight, has plenty of storage space, and folds easily into an inside pocket for travel when not in use. I used this bag to chaperone a school trip to Disney World, and it held everything I needed without being too heavy or hot.

If you have a stroller or just want something small, I definitely recommend a belt bag! While these won’t carry everything, you can certainly keep your wallet, phone, chapstick, sunglasses, and charger. While I love Lululemon brands, Pander Belt Bags make an excellent alternative! My girls and I all wore belt bags on our last trip. We kept the bigger items in the stroller and only carried the smaller items with us.

Packing for Disney World – Park Bag Packing List

Amazon Ordering

Despite my best planning efforts, I always remember something last minute that I want to add to my packing list. If you are in the same boat, don’t panic! Most Amazon Prime items arrive within one to two days. Double-check the Prime status and the anticipated delivery date for whatever you are ordering. If you don’t have Amazon Prime and aren’t sure if it is right for you, Amazon offers a three-month trial subscription! This is a great way to utilize the benefits of Amazon Prime without the cost and commitment while preparing for your Disney vacation. If you love it, keep the Amazon Prime membership. If you don’t, Amazon makes it easy to log into your account and cancel at the end of your trial. Be sure to watch your timelines, though; memberships often auto-renew at the end of a trial.

Final Thoughts

If you have stayed with me through this article, thank you! While there is so much to prepare when you plan a Disney vacation, I hope this is helpful in getting you started packing for Disney World.

Just remember, Disney is for fun and memories! While there is often some degree of stress in planning and getting everything ready, know that it will all be okay in the end. If you forget something, Disney will more than likely have it in their gift shops. Planning for me is so much fun! I can spend hours planning, organizing, and making lists. If you are not surprising your family, include them in the planning process. My girls gave me so many great ideas along the way! If planning is not your thing, that is okay too. I am so happy to be able to share my experience and help you along the way. You’ve got this! I hope you find this list helpful as you begin packing for Disney World.

Have the most Magical vacation!
